Taylor Mays 40 time clocked in at an unofficial 4.24 this morning, but the time has since been changed.
The new Taylor Mays 40 time at today’s NFL Combine is 4.43, according to Aaron Wilson of The National Football Post.
The unofficial time for the safety from USC wooed spectators and word of it is still spreading on social networks.
Gregg Rosenthal of Pro Football Talk is skeptical of the new time, noting, “NFLN showed Mays only about a step behind Jacoby Ford’s 4.28 when played side by side.”
The 4.24 appeared to tie the record set by Tennessee Titan Chris Johnson two years ago.
Johnson tweeted in response to the change, “@richeisen Man yall #killsme me w/ ths 40′s stevie wonder must B doing the unofficial times how u go from 4.24 2 4.43 I made em kissdababy.”
