Rick Santorum Wins Colorado & Minnesota Caucuses
Rick Santorum won the Minnesota Caucus and Colorado Caucus and a non-binding major in Missouri on Tuesday night, an unexpected sweep that brought up refreshing questions on Mitt Romney’s potential to win the Republican presidential nomination. Within the flip facet, it could support Romney inadvertently.
With Santorum rising as opposition to Newt Gingrich as being the principal choice to Romney, voters continue to veer among candidates but haven’t coalesced driving one regularly, usually leaving Romney forward almost by default.
Gingrich has won 1 state, South Carolina. Santorum has now won four, including Iowa. Romney won New Hampshire January 10 after which back-to-back victories in Florida and Nevada that had led to predictions that he was unavoidable.

Iowa Caucus Results 2012
Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney beat former senator Rick Santorum (Pa.) in the Iowa caucuses by just eight votes, a sign of a splintered and increasingly fractious field as the GOP presidential race moves to New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida.
The former Massachusetts governor emerged victorious over former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Penn.) by a razor-thin margin of just eight votes. The final results, announced early Wednesday by the Iowa GOP, showed Romney had 30,015 votes to 30,007 for Santorum.
Despite the victory, Romney was unable to garner 25% percent of the vote. With 99.5% of precincts reporting, Romney won 24.6% to Santorum’s 24.5%. In all, more than 122,000 straw ballots were cast, a record for Iowa Republicans.

I just on-line, and as usual I browse the news at the WashingtonPost. and that i found the fascinating discussion in “PostOpinions” rubric, that’s the Iowa Caucus 2012 winner predictions from some authorities, like columnists, bloggers and editors.

Predicted winner: Rick Santorum
Momentum is important in Iowa, and Santorum seems to be consolidating the religious conservative vote. Rick Perry is also flat, which helps Santorum. My guess is that Mitt Romney runs second, though I think it will be a tight contest for the No. 2 spot between Romney and Ron Paul.

Santorum has the momentum in the polls, easily the best favorability in the field and the most committed supporters. In the Des Moines Register poll, 76 percent of his supporters said they will definitely caucus, compared with 58 percent for Mitt Romney and (despite the conventional wisdom that his supporters are the most enthusiastic) 56 percent for Ron Paul.
