The Heart Attack Grill that opened last week in Las Vegas blatantly advertises food that is unhealthy for you. And in case you do not get the message, the restaurant incorporates a hospital theme, with an ambulance parked out front, servers dressed like nurses and an owner, Jon Basso, who refers to himself as “Dr. Jon.”

The Heart Attack Grill, which began selling their burgers inside the West End on Friday. The gluttony-glamorizing restaurant opened a branch on Friday in Dallas but closed its doorways early following going through unspecified “operational issues in the kitchen,” a Dallas Television station documented. The original restaurant is in Chandler, Ariz.

Business with the Dallas restaurant had been brisk previously while in the day. Even just before its doorways opened for business, there was a line of devil-may-care diners dying to have within.

The restaurant’s website won’t disclose nutrition details, but beef, lard (pig body fat), and dairy items pack lots of calories and saturated extra fat – especially in the gigantic portion sizes that the restaurant serves up.

Still remember The Heart Attack Grill Restaurant in Arizona? The restaurant with higher calorie menu.

A 575-pound man who gained a measure of fame as spokesman for that Heart Attack Grill – a Phoenix-area restaurant that unabashedly touts its unhealthy, high-calorie menu – has died.

Close friends of 29-year-old Blair River say he died Tuesday, probably from contracting pneumonia following a bout together with the flu.

Restaurant founder Jon Basso tells The Arizona Republic that River was more than the larger-than-life caricature he portrayed in marketing the restaurant in Chandler, which incorporates large hamburgers, milkshakes and fries cooked in lard on its menu.

Basso says River was a creative genius who had been preparing to take aspect inside the shooting of a promotional spot referred to as, “Heart Attack Grill: The Musical.”

The 6-foot-8 River was an Arizona state heavyweight wrestling champion in 1999.
