Star of ‘Davy Crockett’ Fess Parker Dies at 85
The King from the Wild Frontier is gone.
Fess Parker, the strapping star who performed Davy Crockett inside the hugely well-known Disney television show in the 1950s, died today of natural causes at age 85, his family announced.
The actor, whose classic roles also included the son-consoling dad in Old Yeller and one more ‘coonskin-cap-favoring frontiersman in NBC’s Daniel Boone, had retired from showbiz inside the 1970s and founded a hugely successful winery and resort in Santa Barbara.
He was 85.

Actor Kristoffer Winters and Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner are speculated to become a couple after a Los Angeles Times article was found the two had been co-investors in the property in Hollywood Hills, Calif.
“Actors Jeremy Renner, who played the leader of an explosives disposal unit in the critically acclaimed film ‘The Hurt Locker’ and co-investor Kristoffer Winters found a buyer for their restored 1924 Greek Revival in the Hollywood Hills area after five months on the market. It sold for more than $4 million,” the article said.
Rumors has it the Oscar-nominated actor is gay.
