Petrolia CA Earthquake

The powerful Magnitude earthquake (magnitude 6.0) struck Northern California region. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 7 miles and centered on the 35-mile coast of Petrolia, Ca on Thursday afternoon as the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to KTLA news, the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said that the magnitude was such that a tsunami is not expected. “However, in coastal areas of intense shaking, locally generated tsunamis can be triggered by underwater landslides.”

There are no reports of damage or injuries as of yet.
