Mediterranean Diet Reduces Threat of First Heart Attack
That first heart attack has got to be a shocker. You’re on the bar watching the game, dipping Buffalo wings into blue cheese and - BAM!
You’re within the floor grabbing your chest and yelling for the drunken buddies to call 911. Only when you’d been popping olives rather than jalapeño poppers.
Just because a new study shows the Mediterranean diet may decrease risk associated with a cardiac event, especially that pesky first heart attack.
Ever wonder why those olive-skinned Mediterranean women - ugh, guys too - look so great? It’s their diet. The Mediterranean diet, full of olive oil, fruits, vegetables, whole grain products, and fish, has long been related to good health.
By using a special scale to rank units of compliance to the Mediterranean, data revealed with each “1-unit” boost in score, heart disease chance was decreased by 6%. Scientists explain the corresponding diet change isn’t that “drastic.”
So, use this info being a beginning. Cut out red meat 1 day and swap in fish, or cook with olive oil instead of canola oil; ease into it. It always seems weird to me to shock the body through an abrupt diet change.

Pennsylvania Democrat Rep. Jack Murtha Dead
Jack Murtha was decorated Vietnam war veteran also it surprised many individuals that he was a real vocal opponent with the war in Iraq.
Pennsylvania Democrat Rep. John “Jack” Murtha was certainly controversial but for the people as part of his district he did what congressmen are supposed to do – which can be, to provide as numerous goods and services for his constituents as possible. He became the symbol of pork barrel spending in Washington but despite the criticism, Murtha always believed there was nothing wrong with pork and, in fact, it was your responsibility to get a much from the pork as it can be.
As much as he was criticized by his fellow colleagues inside Congress, it always amazed me, how many left for him when appropriations bills were approaching to ask for a pork chop or two on their own.
Jack was decorated Vietnam war veteran and it surprised some people that he was this type of vocal opponent from the war in Iraq. But he was much loved by veterans and veterans groups for his supportwith the Veterans Administration and VA hospitals and facilities that he place in appropriations bills over the years. He opposed the war out of conscience as a former warrior and since it works out he was right.
